Snow? As if

We were expecting (hoping?) to wake up to a few centimetres of snow this morning, but there wasn't a flake. It was certainly cold enough though when I took Mishka out, so we'll keep our fingers crossed for this afternoon.
The gritting lorry was out on Deeds Grove last night, although it was speeding through the estate at at least 25mph, so I doubt it has done any good.
Lara's feeding at night is getting a little bit more regular now, around midnight, 3am then 6.30ish. I must admit that I hardly notice, I wake up when Ola puts the light on or I hear Lara crying but I go back to sleep straight away. Having said that I think Ola goes straight back to sleep after feeding and changing Lara, so whilst the night is broken, it's not as if Ola's getting no sleep at all.
I'm getting quite used to doing half-days in the office. Shame tomorrow is the last one!

It's "Baby Day"

When I checked my work phone and started Outlook this morning, I got my reminders displayed.... today is "Baby Day!!!". It's Lara's official due date today, so that another reason to have a little party tonight - any excuse to eat up the party food we had left over from Monday night.

It was lovely to see the Grandparents this weekend, Lara was on her best behaviour, and hopefully a pattern has be tested out for future trips down from Radcliffe to High Wycombe via Portishead. Hopefully Mum & Dad will come back down again before Mum forgets where our house is (again!). Lewis Hamilton would have been proud to have reversed such a long way up Deeds Grove without losing a wing mirror.

New Years Day was a quiet day, we had a late start, recovering from a late night, but then went for a nice walk with Lara, Mishka, Chris & Cara down by the Thames in Marlow. Olga has to remember to check whether intersted passers-by who inquire "Awww, she's gorgeous - how old?" aren't always asking about Mishka. Lara doesn't look "just over a year" yet!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to everyone, we've had a nice evening at home with lots of food and a bottle of champagne, and a couple of fireworks.
Lara has been a bit fractious all day, but managed to be asleep for the big moment, as you can see.
It's been a real "normal" family day today - Dad's been at work, Mum's been looking after a striking baby, and even the little boy's been looking for attention - he cut his paw on something in the garden and had to receive some TLC.
Anyway, we've had a wonderful 2007, and are hoping for even better times in 2008; we hope the same for anyone reading this!

Ola's just made a very good point - it's now 12.40am and the kids are asleep and the parents are still up and partying - we're not that old yet!
