Spot the Difference

OK, time for a quick spot the difference contest.
Here's the before photo, taken on Thursday morning:

And here's the after picture, taken on Friday morning:

OK, I know, it's obvious. The sun is shining. No, that doesn't count. Yes, that's right, the tarpaulin is off the summerhouse roof! I finished putting the felt on it last night, it's a miracle.Oh, and the huge poplar tree has gone too.

Foot-in-Mouth? Not likely.

Oh, the latest medical update is that Mishka seems well on the mend, I've hardly seen him with his paw in his mouth at all, and he seems more like his normal self, unlike earlier in the week when he looked very down.

The family photo

I only just thought that I've not posted a proper family picture on here yet, at least the Russian side of the family. So, in the style of Royal Christmas cards, here's one. Mishka was more interested in his birthday toy than posing for the camera.

He's not Zero any more, he's One!

Yep, 20th September is Mishka's real birthday; the Kennel Club have him down as the 19th, as that's when most of his brothers and sisters came along, but he was fashionably late. We bought him a new soft toy to play with, and here's a proud mum about to give him his present.

Frazzled & sore paws

It seems the weather on Saturday was better than I thought, by the time we got home I was burnt to a crisp - you can never find the After Sun Cream when you need it.
The other news is poor Mishka's got sore feet; we noticed he was licking one of his paws on Friday evening, but we thought he might just have scratched it, he wasn't limping or complaining when we touched it. By Saturday evening the little fella had has paw pretty much permanently stuffed in his gob, I'm sure the 5 miles he must have walked that day didn't help!
Anyway, Olga got him an appointment this lunchtime at the vet's, and he's had two injections to bring the swelling down and hopefully kill the infection he got, it's likely he was bitten by a tick or some other nasty little thing. It's his birthday on Thursday, hopefully he'll be OK to celebrate with a beer as he'll just have finished his antibiotics by then!
I managed to finish the cricket season yesterday by biffing 58 for our friend Sahan's "Sloggers" team, which feels better than finishing it on a 2-ball duck last week. The kit will now be washed and hidden away until the morning of the first match of next season!
