End of a Sky Era

I forgot to mention that on Tuesday I cut down our choice of Sky channels to save some cash, so the premium movies and sports have gone, and for the time being the kids channels have gone too. This was ironic because at the very time Sky were downgrading our package, Olga and Lara were watching a Baby channel we'd not watched before, and Lara seemed to be enjoying it. And pooof, it went!

Lara's Smi's have become Smiles

Lara now gives me the full-on smiles that she has been giving Olga for some weeks, so I must be doing something right. She's particularly smiley first thing in the morning, she likes to be up and playing by 7am, although this morning there was no waking Dad up, so she had her breakfast and had to play in her cot before the selfish old git got up at 7.30. Lara did have one of her sleepy nights last night, just to keep up her inconsistency, she only woke once at 4am for a feed.
Olga is hosting the afternoon post-natal session again today so her and Lara have a busy day.

Earthquake? What Earthquake?

Apparently there was a 5.2 magnitude earthquake just before 1am this morning. It didn't wake me, but if Lara's crying doesn't wake me and she's only 2 metres away, I don't think a small thing like an earthquake 170 miles away would disturb me. Olga woke up but she thinks it was more to do with Lara's grumbling than anything else.
Did you feel it? Vote in my poll! Out of two guys at work that I asked, one was awake and watching TV and he didn't feel it, and the other one didn't feel it either but was woken by his cat, who probably did feel it.

Lazy Sunday

We had lots of plans for Sunday, involving long walks and doing housework. In the end we did a shortish walk (it started to rain!) that gave us a nice new view of Wycombe, and Olga did some housework while I looked after Lara. Lara's cold seems to have gone now, but she still can't decide if she wants to only wake up once in the night (Sunday night) or five times (last night).

I'm babysitting at work at the moment while Olga has a hair appointment, and as I look down at Lara in her car seat, I see she's woken, so I'd better take her for a walk in the park before she decides to cry!

POW Rangers on a roll

I made my return to the POW Rangers on Saturday, in our must-win game against fellow strugglers Aylesbury Park Rangers. The score after the first half (when I was a sub) was 5-1 to us, and the score at full time (after I'd played centre-half for 45 minutes) was...5-1. So I'm not sure how much I contributed, but I guess you could say we kept a clean sheet. Anyway, it means we shoot up to 5 points for the season, unbeaten in our last two games and can't finish bottom. Like our previous two seasons, we'll finish 2nd bottom - now that's consistency!
