A few days away (again!)

We really are making the most of Luda being here, and of Ryanair's latest offer - we're off to Ireland early tomorrow for two days. I'm no fan of the way Ryanair do business in general, but this was just too good an offer to refuse - return flights to Shannon from Stanstead for the three of us for £60, and that included the almost-impossible-to-avoid £30 for paying by anything other than a prepaid Mastercard. To keep costs down, we're going for just one night, and travelling with hand baggage only. We will arrive at 9.45am and leave at 9.55 on Wednesday night, so we will get two full days there.  I know the County Clare area a little from a month's fieldwork I did there in 1996, and to enhance the whole "Irish" experience, we're staying in a lovely pub in Kilrush, Crotty's Pub, rather than a hotel. We'll go and see the very impressive Cliffs of Moher too, but other than that, we're just going to make it up as we go. Lara's already excited about going on another aeroplane, and as the flight is only just over an hour, I doubt she'll give us much trouble.

So, an early night is needed, ready for a 5.30am departure from home tomorrow...
