This woman seems to be craving pickled cucumbers. Olga ate plenty of these before she was pregnant, so there's clearly something wrong. I don't know if this is a craving, but she's started drinking tea with milk in it. Uurrghhh!! Can you imagine that!?
Worryingly, I've started enjoying tea with lemon instead of milk. I'll be eating pickled cucumbers next.
HI Chris,
ReplyDeleteFantastic blog you've got going- quick question- did you view stoke mandeville labour unit too? think I'm veering toward wycombe, but considering stoke as probably closer, and is both midwife and consultant led- just wanted to know if you knew anything about whether the rooms are en-suite and whether you can stay in them the whole time? Thanks!
Hi LLanali
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading, I never knew anyone beyond my family and friends were reading this :-)
We haven't checked out Stoke Mandeville as we live only two minutes drive from Wycombe, but one couple in our Ante-Natal group are using Stoke. I'd not paid much attention to the exact facilities there, but the feeling I had got about the place was that it was very similar to Wycombe. After checking with Olga (who has a much better memory than me) we agree that we don't think the delivery rooms have en-suite facilities (Wycombe's delivery rooms have baths-with-shower and toilet en-suite). Whether you can stay in them the whole time, I'm not sure. I know you can in Wycombe, and you can stay for a good few hours afterwards too, if there is no queue for the room.
I hope that helps, good luck!
